Cold Mac provides a unique workflow centered around "Patch Surveillance"—the practice of using a single macro control vector to simultaneously steer multiple aspects of a modular system. The module features an intricately linked circuit network that behaves as either a straightforward multi-channel mixer or an unpredictable, generative cross-modulation matrix depending entirely on how it is patched.

At its core, the module hosts a 6-input linear mixer that sums signals directly to the MAC output, governed by a voltage-controlled amplifier. A secondary, independent VCA can be configured for panning, crossfading, or standalone amplification using its own dedicated inputs and outputs. Beyond traditional mixing, Cold Mac features advanced signal-dissection utilities: logical comparisons split inputs around floating-point thresholds, an integrated envelope follower doubles as a slew limiter for pulses or control voltages, and a full-wave rectifier works alongside a high-gain CREASE wavefolder to mangle audio into complex harmonic textures.
