Vermona TAI-4 – Transformer-Balanced Modular Audio Interface

The Vermona TAI-4 is a professional-grade 2x2 audio interface module that connects your modular system with studio or stage gear via true transformer-balanced XLR I/O. Unlike most modular I/O modules that rely on electrical balancing, the TAI-4 uses high-quality isolation transformers to ensure pristine signal integrity and electrical separation — crucial for professional audio environments.

On the top half of the module, two female XLR inputs connect external balanced signals into your modular system via 3.5mm minijack outputs. Each input channel includes a three-position rocker switch to adjust gain at 0 dB, +6 dB, or +12 dB, offering flexibility when interfacing with different equipment.

The bottom half does the reverse: it takes unbalanced modular signals from 3.5mm inputs and routes them to the outside world via male XLR outputs, also with switchable output attenuation at 0 dB, -6 dB, or -12 dB.
