Verbos Electronics Voltage Multistage

At first glance, the Voltage Multistage from Verbos Electronics may appear to be a conventional analog sequencer—but it’s far more than that. This module is a flexible, fully analog control voltage generator capable of operating as a sequencer, complex envelope, voltage-controlled LFO, graphic oscillator, and more.

The top row (CV A) includes per-step switches for Gate, Slide, or Off, while the bottom row (CV B) offers another set of CV outputs without gate control. With an external clock, the Time parameter defines stage duration and slide time, allowing for dynamic tempo control. Active gates are high for ⅓ of the step length unless Slide is enabled, which stretches the gate across the full stage.

Voltage Multistage can function as a multi-stage envelope. Sustain a stage using its gate output patched into the Sustain input. Use the Strobe input to address specific stages via CV or knob position—ideal for preset selection or manually resetting a sequence.

You can also enable or disable the clock using the Enable input, making this module an excellent tool for key-triggered modulation or interactive sequencing. The Ref output generates a falling ramp over each stage, perfect for decay envelope shapes.
