Verbos Electronics Real World Interface

The Real World Interface from Verbos Electronics connects your Eurorack system to the outside world, converting audio and environmental signals into modular-level CV and audio. Designed to interact with acoustic sources, field recordings, or any external signal, it bridges the gap between reality and synthesis, making your modular system truly expressive and responsive to the world around it.

The module features three independent channels. The left and right channels each include a high-quality preamp, an audio input, and a built-in condenser microphone, allowing you to bring in external sounds directly or through mic capture. From these inputs, the module generates modular-level audio, an envelope follower with adjustable decay, and a gate signal, making it ideal for live performance or responsive modulation.

The center channel adds a powerful layer of control with automatic gain control (AGC) and frequency detection. This enables pitch tracking and the generation of CV based on incoming monophonic signals. You can route this pitch CV to your favorite oscillator for pitch-following control or use the built-in Locked Oscillator output for a direct sine wave at the detected pitch. While the pitch detection has its quirks—depending on the complexity of the input—it opens up playful, unpredictable interactions between performer and machine.
