Verbos Electronics Polyphonic Envelope

The Verbos Polyphonic Envelope is a powerful and flexible AHD envelope generator, purpose-built for the evolving world of polyphonic modular synthesis. True to the Verbos design ethos, it goes far beyond traditional envelope generators with cascading logic, skew control, and deep modulation possibilities.

At its core, the Polyphonic Envelope features four independent AHD envelopes with shared control over attack, hold, and decay times via faders. These controls can be globally adjusted across all four envelopes, making it perfect for polyphonic systems that rely on uniform modulation of VCOs, VCAs, or VCFs.

Where things get particularly creative is in its Skew and Level controls. Skew introduces offsets between the envelopes, creating evolving or staggered modulations. Level adjusts the output voltage level, and both parameters are CV-controllable, opening the door to dynamic and generative modulation schemes.

Each envelope features its own gate input and End-of-Pulse (EOP) output. A standout feature is the Cascade Trigger input, which lets you use a single gate to sequentially trigger envelopes 1 through 4. The cascade mode switch determines the timing of the cascade—at the start of the Hold phase, the start of the Decay, or after the full envelope cycle. This makes the Polyphonic Envelope just as useful for complex monophonic patches as it is in polyphonic setups.

Additional outputs include stage-specific gates for Envelope 1 (Attack, Hold, Decay), plus two “All” outputs—one that sums all envelope voltages and another for all EOP triggers.

As with many Verbos modules, envelope levels reach up to +10V, making it ideal for systems that require higher CV amplitudes.
