Ar Merc’het Brao is a dual, or true stereo, resonant filter paired with TouellSkouarn’s unmistakable overdrive circuits. Designed for Eurorack but equally happy with guitars and line level signals, it brings controlled filtering and unapologetic grit together in a compact, hands-on module.
Named in Breton for “The Pretty Girls”, Ar Merc’het Brao consists of two independent filter and distortion paths that can be used as a stereo processor or as two separate mono channels. Each filter operates at a 12 dB per octave slope and can be switched between low-pass and high-pass, making it just as suitable for sculpting bass and leads as it is for carving out aggressive midrange textures.
Cutoff frequency is available per channel via CV inputs, while global cutoff and resonance controls let you shape both sides together for coherent stereo movement or matched mono processing. Push the resonance and you get musical emphasis without losing control, then drive the signal into the overdrive stages to add weight, crunch, or full-on saturation.
The distortion circuits are classic TouellSkouarn. Thick, raw, and characterful, they respond dynamically to input level and filter settings, making Ar Merc’het Brao a strong choice for harsh techno, experimental sound design, and any patch that benefits from attitude and presence.
