The RYK Program Card Pack offers three distinct firmware environments for the Music Thing Modular Workshop Computer. Each card provides a dedicated set of tools for audio manipulation that transforms the identity of the module. By swapping these physical cards, you can shift from a non-volatile tape recorder to a 14-band vocoder or a harmonized delay system without needing to flash code via a computer.
The B77 Tape card allows you to capture approximately 90 seconds of mono audio across two separate tracks. Because it uses non-volatile memory, your recordings stay saved on the card even after you power down your rack. This makes it a reliable tool for storing specific samples or loops for live performances. In use, you blend between the two tracks and manipulate playback speed to create warped, lo-fi textures or stable rhythmic backing.
The 355/350 card bridges the gap between acoustic instruments and your modular system. In Pitch to Voltage mode, it converts monophonic signals like voice or guitar into V/Oct pitch and envelope CV. An onboard five-waveform oscillator tracks your input for instant synth doubling. Flipping to the Vocoder mode engages a 14-band engine with an internal four-note polyphonic carrier, ideal for classic vocal synthesis. Finally, the 910 Pitched Delay provides a variable range of one octave up or down within the feedback loop. This allows for subtle harmonizing or chaotic cascading delays that drastically alter the harmonic profile of your source audio.
NOTE THESE CARD DESIGNED FOR THE MUSIC THING MODULAR COMPUTER MODULE OR THE COMPUTER IN THE WORKSHOP SYSTEM.
