RYK Modular ALGO

The RYK ALGO is a bold and brilliantly accessible quad complex oscillator bank, bringing the power of classic FM synthesis into the Eurorack world with modern playability and CV control. Based on a 4-operator FM engine (inspired by legendary instruments like the Yamaha DX100 and TX81Z), ALGO balances depth and immediacy, letting you sculpt tones ranging from pure harmonic richness to chaotic digital distortion with ease.

ALGO’s nine FM algorithms define how the oscillators (operators) modulate each other. The interface invites exploration — simply press the ALGO button to scroll through configurations, and then start shaping your sound using the powerful XM (cross modulation), Warp, and Fold controls. Warp morphs waveforms from sine to triangle to pulse. Fold adds saturation and complexity, with symmetric, asymmetric, and soft-clipping types.

Each of the four oscillators can operate in one of several modes:

• 1V/Oct tracking

• Harmonic ratio intervals

• Fixed frequency

• Amplitude Modulation (AM)
  ...offering the flexibility to act as a full synth voice, modulation source, or both.

ALGO goes beyond traditional FM by allowing independent modulation control over each operator, deep CV integration for timbre and folding, and a built-in stereo chorus that brings warmth and spatial width. Whether you're after vintage FM basses and bells, eerie horror atmospheres, or lush harmonic drones, ALGO delivers with surprising depth and fun.
