William Stokes is an educator, researcher and synthesist with extensive experience in teaching electronic sound and music technology. He writes for Sound On Sound magazine, contributes to academic research on electronic music and teaches at City, University of London.

His approach combines clear technical understanding with creative

and accessible guidance, making him an ideal mentor for those taking their first steps into synthesis. He is also a musician and performer in three-piece avant-psych band Voka Gentle. With Voka Gentle he has made records with producers from Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Grizzly Bear, Nick Cave) to Sam Petts-Davies (Radiohead, Frank Ocean, Roger Waters).
