The Coral features an 8-voice architecture where each individual voice is equipped with its own dedicated filter, amplifier, and modulation envelopes. The module allows users to assign different sound engines to individual voices simultaneously, facilitating multi-timbral patches, polyphonic sequencing, or dedicated drum-kit layouts from a single module.

The audio architecture supports custom user content via a MicroSD card. Users can load standard .wav files into the sampler engine or import custom wavetables, which can be edited via the standalone OXI Wave app. Modulations like sample file or folder selection can be controlled in real time via physical CV inputs or MIDI CC commands. Additionally, the digital control infrastructure supports MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) for polyphonic per-note modulation alongside standard MIDI CC mapping for all engine parameters and internal FX sends.

Subsequent firmware updates expand the onboard feature set. Version 1.1.3 introduces a 3-VCO subtractive engine with continuously variable waveforms. Version 2.0 adds the ACID II engine with dedicated glide and accent behavior, a MIDI-synchronizable stereo delay effect, and updated UI priority options for the VU meter and encoder.
