Four-Channel Cartesian Performance Sequencer
The Mimetic Digitwolis expands the classic Cartesian sequencing architecture into a four-track performance sequencer with internal quantization, MIDI synchronization, and per-step CV generation.
This module evolves the original Mimetic Digitalis layout by making all four output channels independently configurable. Instead of forcing a global output format, each track can be set to transmit pitch CV, unquantized modulation voltage, triggers, or gates, or even function as an active quantizer for external incoming control voltages.
In use, the sequencer navigates up to 16 steps per track using traditional linear directions or two-dimensional Cartesian patterns like 4x4 grids or 5x3 matrices. You can drive steps using an internal clock with per-track division, run off external triggers, address steps directly with raw CV, or lock to incoming MIDI clock. The signature Shred function introduces controlled randomization to the sequence on command, automatically respecting any defined voltage range limits and pitch scale constraints to keep live variations musical.
While the condensed footprint offers high sequencing density per HP, managing four independent tracks, clock dividers, and Cartesian navigation layouts across a compact panel requires a short learning curve to master during live performances.
