Luna is not a polite digital synthesizer. It is a serious Lunetta instrument built around raw CMOS logic, where computation becomes sound and rhythm becomes timbre. Inspired by the DIY Lunetta machines of the 70s and 80s, Luna captures that unpredictable spirit and refines it into a powerful, performance-ready instrument.
At its core are five oscillators generating the digital pulses that drive everything. But in Luna’s world, oscillators and sequencers are interchangeable. The same clock that pushes a bass pattern can be accelerated into tearing leads or folded into metallic drones. Logic blocks — including XOR, NOT, AND, shift registers, counters, and a multiplexer — process these pulses into evolving, chaotic structures. This is synthesis at the level of logic itself.
True to its open design philosophy, Luna exposes its CMOS inputs and outputs directly on the front panel. You are not just patching modulation; you are intervening in the logic network. Combine signals, reroute computation, and create results that feel discovered rather than programmed.
To shape this digital chaos into something playable, Luna routes its signals through three organic low-pass gates. These analog circuits add decay, punch, and a natural percussive quality, transforming harsh binary edges into plucks, bongos, basslines, and rhythmic textures. The contrast between raw logic and organic response is central to Luna’s character.
Once your structure is built, Luna lets you reshape it again with a deep onboard effects section. Distortion, delay, reverb, multiple filter types, bitcrusher, phaser, chorus, comb filtering and more can be freely assigned across two serial effect slots. From ambient washes to gritty industrial tones, Luna handles both precision and destruction with ease.
With CV control, MIDI integration, dual sequencers, and both desktop and Eurorack formats available, Luna moves comfortably between experimental lab and live performance rig. It is an instrument for those who want to work directly with digital logic — and bend it into music.
