The Mimeophon is a unique digital stereo delay module developed by Make Noise in collaboration with Tom Erbe of SoundHack. More than just a delay, it’s a real-time stereo echo processor that modulates and morphs time, space, and timbre across a wide range of time scales.
From micro delays to evolving ambient phrases, Mimeophon creates rhythmic and harmonic textures with depth and motion. It allows full stereo operation and supports a variety of configurations including mono-to-stereo or stereo-to-stereo processing. Designed for exploration, it invites you to shape and reshape audio in new ways.
At the heart of the module are eight nested delay Zones, each color-coded and ranging from short slapbacks to looping phrases up to 42 seconds. Switch between Zones to unearth buried sonic memories or dive into real-time transformations using CV control. Color and Halo parameters sculpt the tone and spatial feel of repeats, from lo-fi oil can warmth to pristine digital clarity.
Skew and Ping Pong modes introduce spatial shifting and stereo dynamics, while the μRate input offers doppler-style pitch modulation. Flip your loops in reverse or lock them in place with Hold, all while maintaining full control over playback and modulation.
With syncable tempo, extensive CV control, and a creative interface, Mimeophon is a powerful tool for echo, looping, sound design, and experimental time-based processing in Eurorack systems.
