Elster packages the definitive analog-digital hybrid cymbal sounds of the 909 era into a versatile performance module. Rather than relying on generic modern emulation, it uses authentic 909 sound ROMs coupled with the correct analog envelope and filtering circuits. A simple front-panel selector lets you toggle between three distinct voices: Ride, Crash, and Hi-hats.

When you select the Hi-hat mode, the module adapts its workflow to mimic classic drum machine behavior. The main trigger input fires the closed hat while a secondary input handles the open hat, automatically choking each other just like the original hardware. To keep live performances dynamic, a single button press instantly swaps these trigger assignments, turning your established sequence upside down without any re-patching.

This module goes far beyond simple heritage recreation by expanding the acoustic limits of the original circuits. The pitch control features an extended range switch that pulls the samples down into crunchy, lo-fi textures or pushes them up into bright metallic chirps. Engaging the reverse playback mode transforms the decay slider into a dual control for the starting point and attack length, ensuring the sample always finishes exactly on the initial transient impact. Finally, an onboard Mojo switch introduces subtle spectral coloration to help these notoriously difficult frequencies sit perfectly in a dense modular mix without requiring external processors.
