Swells combines nine high-fidelity reverb algorithms with an integrated envelope follower to create spatial effects that breathe and move with your audio.

Following the design language of Sealegs, Swells treats reverb as an active participant in a patch rather than a static end-of-chain effect. The module centers on eight faders, providing immediate access to core spatial parameters and two model-specific macros labeled Ebb and Flow. These macros change function based on the selected algorithm, ranging from pitch-shifting textures in the Shimmer models to feedback density in the multitap engines. Every fader features a dedicated CV input and attenuverter, encouraging deep integration with the rest of your system.

The defining feature is the Swell Generator, an envelope follower that tracks the input, output, or an external sidechain. This generator is internally normalled to all eight parameter CV inputs. Without a single patch cable, you can set the reverb to duck behind transients, swell during quiet passages, or brighten as the decay increases. This creates a symbiotic relationship between your sound source and its environment, ensuring the wet signal never masks the clarity of your dry input unless you intend it to.

Performance-focused tools like Freeze, Reverse, and Burst allow for momentary transformations. Freeze captures the current buffer for infinite drones, while Burst injects a spike of noise or feedback into the predelay for percussive highlights. A three-stage Lo-Fi switch and a saturating input drive provide textural grit, moving the module from pristine 96 kHz clarity into the murky territory of vintage digital hardware or worn tape.
