Fieldtone Weaver Handheld

The Fieldtone Weaver is a handheld audio sampler that champions randomness, immediacy, and sonic exploration. Using a single, enigmatic knob, Weaver transforms 2-second sound captures into evolving loops, fragmented textures, or rhythmic pulses — all without menus, memory banks, or undo buttons.

Instead of shaping loops through precision editing, Weaver encourages a mindset of forward motion. Once a sound is captured — either through the built-in microphone or 3.5mm input — every movement of the knob generates a completely new loop, pulling from the same short sample window but radically altering its playback parameters. It’s a tool for spontaneous creativity and sonic discovery.

A mode toggle lets you switch between Texture (continuous evolving layers) and Rhythm (looped phrases with pulse). In Rhythm mode, the device can be externally clocked via +5V control voltage, letting it sync up with modular or other CV gear.

Stereo output brings rich spatialisation, and the output can drive both headphones directly or be sent to a mixer, interface, or instrument input.

The Weaver is compact, portable, and lightweight. Powered by 9V battery (2.5–4 hours) or a Boss-style 9V DC power supply (not included), it’s equally at home in the field or the studio. No screens. No saving. Just sound — transformed.
