The Expert Sleepers Forever is an 8HP Eurorack audio freeze and infinite-sustain module built around the Temporal Freeze algorithm from the disting NT. It splits a single incoming audio signal into three completely independent freeze voices, each capable of catching and holding audio moments indefinitely.

Forever provides dedicated panel controls and I/O for three freeze engines working in parallel. Each voice features its own level control, gate input, and a 3-position toggle switch supporting both momentary and latching performance modes. Short trigger pulses or sustained gates grab incoming sound, while subsequent triggers enable overdub-style layering of new source material into the active freeze buffer.

Layering behavior is governed by Layer and Fade parameters, allowing users to adjust transition crossfade times (100 ms to 10 seconds) and determine whether older audio is retained or gradually replaced. For added texture, an onboard Detune engine introduces up to seven pitch-shifted playback heads (defaulting to four heads tuned one octave down) to build dense drones and chordal structures. Flexible Attack and Release controls ranging from 10 ms to 30 seconds facilitate smooth ambient swells, while five primary knobs offer hands-on control over ten parameters via a Shift function with soft takeover. The module includes a USB 2.0 class-compliant port for MIDI CC control, disting NT preset editor compatibility, and firmware updates.
