Eowave Magnetosphere MK2 – Analog Filter, Percussion Source & Saturator

The Magnetosphere MK2 is a compact, analog low-pass filter from Eowave that goes far beyond traditional filtering. With a rich, vintage-inspired 24 dB resonant filter, built-in saturation, noise source, and a clever strike/mod input, it’s both a tone shaper and a percussion generator in a single module.

Based on the original Magnetosphere but improved in sound quality and panel efficiency, the MK2 delivers that classic analog fatness with a refined transistor-based design. The filter tracks beautifully, reaching self-oscillation when needed, and can act as a reliable character filter for bass, leads, and more.

But where it truly stands out is in its versatility. If nothing is patched to the main input, the filter automatically processes the built-in analog noise and saturation circuit, letting you use it as a standalone sound source. Trigger the Strike input to activate a vactrol-style fixed decay envelope, ideal for snappy percussive sounds like kicks or hi-hats. Switch to Mod mode to send standard CV (e.g. LFOs or envelopes) to modulate the filter’s cutoff.

The built-in VCA engages when a signal is patched into the main input, providing gain and dynamic shaping. CV inputs for tracking, modulation, resonance, and VCA level give you full control over the signal path, making the Magnetosphere MK2 a flexible addition to any patch.
