Eight-Channel Audio/CV Breakout Box & USB Hardware Interface

The Elektron Outbox 8 is a compact, standalone USB audio and CV breakout interface designed to expand the connectivity of Elektron hardware instruments, class-compliant USB MIDI controllers, and computer-based DAWs. Featuring eight DC-coupled 1/4" outputs, it provides multichannel analog audio routing and precision MIDI-to-CV conversion for modular synthesizers and vintage hardware.

Outbox 8 connects directly to supported Elektron instruments (such as the Digitakt, Digitone, and Syntakt) via USB host mode without requiring an intermediate computer. It allows performers to break out individual audio tracks, drums, or submix groups to external mixing consoles, pedalboards, and outboard processors, enabling parallel processing and dedicated multi-track recording setups.

Beyond audio expansion, the unit functions as a full-featured USB MIDI-to-CV converter. It translates sequencer notes, clock sync, and parameter locks (MIDI CCs, velocity, aftertouch) into pitch, gate, and modulation control voltages across a ±5V range with support for both V/oct and Hz/V tracking modes. Additionally, Outbox 8 operates as a class-compliant 8-output USB audio interface for DAWs or a standalone host interface for USB controllers. Settings and device profiles can be managed and saved using a browser-based configuration editor.
