Doepfer A-184-1 Ring Modulator/S&H/T&H/Slew Limiter

The Doepfer A-184-1 is a compact utility module that brings together three essential functions: ring modulation, sample & hold (or track & hold), and slew limiting. It's ideal for smaller systems or users who want key utility features without dedicating extra space to full dual modules.

The upper section features a classic analog ring modulator (X*Y), perfect for metallic, bell-like tones or audio-rate modulation. The lower section houses a sample & hold circuit (with an external trigger input), switchable to track & hold mode for stepped or continuously held voltages. When no trigger is applied, it can also act as a standalone slew limiter—useful for smoothing voltages or glide effects.
