Doepfer A-155-2 8-Step Sequencer

The Doepfer A-155-2 is a compact analog 8-step sequencer designed for fast, hands-on pattern creation, but with enough hidden depth to surprise even seasoned users. At first glance, each step offers a CV knob and illuminated gate button for immediate sequence building — just plug in a clock and go.

But look closer: the "Program" toggle unlocks access to advanced functions including sequence length, playback direction (up, down, double-time, pendulum, random), and individual step ratcheting (x2, x3, x4). A memory system allows you to store and recall up to 8 complete patterns, making this sequencer highly playable and performance-friendly.

The unquantized CV output offers three selectable voltage ranges (0–1V, 0–2V, 0–4V), and there’s manual/CV reset as well as an external clock input. While there’s no built-in clock, the A-155-2 features an internal MIDI output header that can be used with Doepfer’s upcoming MIDI modules for additional integration. Perfect for driving analog sequences with digital precision — or keeping it raw and hands-on.
