A versatile dual module combining envelopes and VCAs in a compact format. The A-142-2 from Doepfer features two independent envelope-controlled VCAs, each capable of AD, AR, or simplified ADSR shapes. These are selectable via a front panel toggle switch, and each channel includes a manual trigger button, gate input, and a CVT input for modulating envelope timing.

You can use jumpers to assign which parts of the envelope (Attack, Decay/Release, or both) respond to the CVT input — and even control the modulation direction. A built-in ducking input on each channel lets you sidechain external signals to reduce the VCA level, handy for dynamics or rhythmic effects.

Simple, effective and packed with control options, the A-142-2 is ideal for everything from precise modulation shaping to dynamic amplitude control.
