The A-140-3 provides standard envelope modulation driven by a gate input. It includes a dedicated retrigger input, allowing the envelope to restart from the beginning of its attack phase while the primary gate signal remains high. This functionality enables complex rhythmic modulation when paired with external clocks or LFOs.

An integrated CVT (Control Voltage Time) input equipped with a manual attenuator allows for external voltage control over the envelope's duration. Internal PCB jumpers determine whether this modulation targets the Attack, Decay, or Release parameters. The module features two simultaneous voltage outputs: Out1 outputs the standard envelope shape, while Out2 can be configured via a jumper to deliver either a duplicate standard envelope or an inverted version of the signal.
