Doepfer - A-124-2SE Wasp Filter SE Black/Yellow (Slim Line)

The Doepfer A-124-2SE Wasp Filter SE (Slim Line) is a compact version of Doepfer's celebrated Wasp-style filter, bringing all the edgy character of the original into just 4HP. Based on the classic British EDP Wasp synthesizer circuit, this filter is beloved for its unpredictability, aggressive tone, and distinctive analogue grit.

Instead of conventional op-amps, the A-124-2SE uses CMOS digital inverters, resulting in a raw and unstable sound with a wild resonance response. While the filter doesn’t self-oscillate, it offers plenty of drive—especially at higher input levels—making it perfect for ripping basslines and snarling textures.

It features outputs for lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filtering. For space reasons, the lowpass and highpass share one output, and a dedicated mix output lets you blend between lowpass, notch, and highpass responses. Two CV inputs allow for dynamic modulation of the cutoff frequency.

Despite its slim format, this version loses none of the sonic character that made the Wasp circuit famous. If you're looking for something with bite, buzz, and a bit of chaos, this is the filter for you.
