Doepfer A-119-2 Dual Input/Amplifier

The Doepfer A-119-2 is a streamlined, dual-channel external input amplifier designed to bring external audio or control voltages into your Eurorack system with ease. A modern follow-up to Doepfer’s classic A-119, this 4HP module provides clean amplification, flexible normalling options, and a user-friendly interface — perfect for integrating line-level sources, portable devices, or field recordings into your patch.

Each of the two channels offers manual gain control from 0 to approximately 45x, allowing you to boost quiet signals like synths, drum machines, or mobile audio devices up to modular levels. Overload LEDs give immediate feedback when levels exceed 10V peak-to-peak, helping to prevent unwanted clipping.

The real cleverness of the A-119-2 lies in its normalling functionality. Internal jumpers let you choose how input 1 behaves: you can leave it isolated, copy its signal to input 2 (mono-to-dual-mono), or treat a stereo TRS cable on input 1 as dual mono, routing each channel accordingly. This makes it ideal for compact setups or for quickly patching stereo sources into your system without a dedicated interface.

With DC-coupled I/O, the A-119-2 isn’t limited to audio — it works equally well for boosting CV signals, making it a handy utility for extending modulation sources or offsetting weak control voltages. The two channels can even be daisy-chained to achieve higher gain if needed.
