The QMMF-4 combines four independent, precise filter channels with a centralized master section to create an expansive acoustic modeling and frequency-shaping environment.

This massive parallel filtering system builds on multi-band resonance concepts to act as a complete synthesis voice engine, formant generator, or master equalizer. Each of the four identical filter sections operates independently with dedicated audio inputs, outputs, and fine-tuning controls. You can switch each core between low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes, while a dedicated notch output remains simultaneously active for complex phase-mangling.

The module excels at tailoring transient response through its three selectable resonance modes. The standard resonance mode mimics classic acoustic instruments and responds beautifully to sharp triggers for physical modeling pings without breaking into runaway oscillation. For aggressive electronic patches, the self-oscillation modes provide clean sine waves or saturated, driven tones. Each channel also features an integrated output VCA fader, letting you shape the dynamic amplitude of each frequency band independently.

In use, the master control section unifies the individual filters, turning the module into a cohesive performance tool. A master cutoff control shifts the entire frequency landscape at once, while the voltage-controlled wet/dry and master volume paths allow you to blend dense, filtered textures smoothly back into your dry mix. The module functions perfectly as a drum generator, a stereo formant filter, or a four-band parametric equalizer for processing complete patches.
