MuDi provides central timing utilities in an ultra-narrow format, keeping your sequencers, envelopes, and modulation sources perfectly synchronized. The core architecture acts as a structural distribution block for your system rhythm. When you feed a master clock into the primary input, the internal circuit generates four distinct, musically useful clock divisions alongside three buffered copies of the original incoming signal. This layout allows you to drive main drum sequencers at full speed while simultaneously running sub-sequencers or long-form ambient modulation at fractional rates.
The hardware implementation addresses common performance stability issues through its intelligent active design. Unlike passive dividers that instantly drop out or freeze your patch if a master cable is disconnected, this module features a flywheel memory behavior. If the primary clock source is removed during a live performance or patch rearrangement, the internal engine continues to generate and output the last calculated tempo. This allows you to hot-swap clock sources, change master controllers, or patch on the fly without stopping the rhythmic movement of your entire system.
Input connectivity is optimized via a multi-purpose TRS jack that handles both clock and hardware reset signals simultaneously. By using the included stereo-to-dual-mono splitter cable, you can route a dedicated reset trigger directly into the ring channel to keep your sequencers perfectly aligned on the first beat of a measure. Additionally, the input stage features a high-sensitivity comparator circuit that accepts any weak trigger or variable waveform above 2V, instantly reconditioning it into a robust, clean 10V square wave output to guarantee precise triggering across all connected gear.
