The Complex Oscillator Power House: Pizza by Bastl delivers a huge sound palette in a compact 8HP footprint, combining classic FM synthesis with modern digital flexibility.

At its core, Pizza features three internal oscillators: the main carrier oscillator and two modulators. The main oscillator provides octave transposition, detune, and waveform morphing with pulse output for subtractive techniques. Modulators can be independently tuned in musical ratios and combined using the FM Index crossfader — allowing smooth blends between different FM tones.

Pizza’s SHAPE section adds wavefolding and ring modulation, and its clever CTRL knob can be assigned to various parameters like FM depth, wavefolding amount, oscillator ratios, and more. External modulation is also supported via a dedicated input that can override the Octave modulator’s signal.

Despite its small size, Pizza is remarkably deep — offering waveform outputs, sync input, automatic V/OCT calibration, and a pulse output that now also serves as a dedicated output for the Ratio oscillator in the latest firmware. With version 1.1, new features like an internal envelope, coarse pitch mode, and improved performance bring even more versatility to this already feature-rich oscillator.
