Basil is Bastl Instruments' highly flexible stereo digital delay, packed with modulation tricks and tonal shaping options that range from pristine echoes to degraded, lo-fi atmospheres. Built on Bastl’s open Pizza platform, Basil invites experimental delay sculpting in both musical and chaotic territories.

This delay isn't just for repeats — it stretches deep into spacey FX, with a dedicated modulation section offering chorus, vibrato, pitch-shifting, reverb, and more. Delay times can be synced or finely tuned with V/Oct control, and cross-feedback, stereo spread, and ping-pong modes offer dimensional control. You can dial in anything from lush shimmer tails to gritty, chopped tape textures.

The "Blur" function smears delay content, creating ambient haze and experimental washes, while speed and buffer size controls open the door to glitchy downsampling or octave-jumping repeats. Basil also includes Freeze for looping delay buffers AMS-style — perfect for granular atmospheres and compositional layering.

With its assignable CTRL knob, extensive CV control, and firmware-upgradable core, Basil is not just a delay — it's a deep modulation environment and sound design playground, ideal for experimental setups and evolving stereo patches.
