The KeyStep 37 mk2 provides a slim 37-key keybed featuring velocity and channel aftertouch, alongside capacitive touch strips for pitch bend and modulation. This updated version incorporates an onboard OLED display and a clickable encoder, allowing for standalone parameter editing and configuration without the requirement of external software utility tools.

The internal sequencer has been updated to support up to 64 steps with 8-voice polyphony, adding functionality for unquantized recording and pattern chaining. The 16-mode arpeggiator includes nine generative pattern styles, which work in tandem with the real-time Mutate, Spice, and Dice variation tools. For physical control, four dedicated encoders manage context-dependent settings across the sequencer, arpeggiator, chord, and scale engines, and they can be configured across four banks to output up to 16 distinct MIDI CC parameters.

Hardware connectivity includes USB-C, standard 5-pin MIDI DIN I/O, 3.5 mm clock sync, and a TRS sustain/expression pedal input. The analog control voltage interface features four CV outputs (Pitch, Gate, Mod 1, and Mod 2), allowing velocity, aftertouch, or mod wheel data to be mapped directly to external modular hardware.
