Animal Factory Module Orobas 2

Animal Factory Amplification's Orobas V2 is a powerful dual-channel tube amplifier module for Eurorack that excels at everything from subtle tube warmth to full-blown distortion and feedback madness. Each of the two identical channels is built around vacuum tubes and comes loaded with features that make this more than just another distortion unit — it's a creative sound-shaping instrument.

Each channel offers two audio inputs, each with its own gain control, and a dedicated output volume control. You can run the channels in parallel for stereo or layered effects, or in series for escalating saturation and feedback. In series mode, Output 1 remains active, perfect for parallel processing or feedback patching. Both outputs are phase-inverted relative to their inputs, enabling clever CV/audio tricks like self-modulation or feedback loops.

The Screen CV input affects gain and timbre — normalized to Input 1 — and can be used for aggressive dynamic modulation. The Suppress CV input, also normalized to the input signal, allows for harmonic suppression, ducking, or even complete tube shutdown when driven with negative CV. It's a unique modulation point that responds beautifully to audio-rate CV for milder, textured effects.

The Evocation knob introduces internal feedback from Output 2 to Channel 1, and its behavior changes dramatically depending on the Plate Bias switch, which toggles between three different headroom settings, offering varied degrees of distortion.

Orobas V2 features different tubes from the original (now sold-out) V1, offering a distinct character while retaining the brutal flexibility that made the original so sought-after.
