The Bonesaw Filter offers separate low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass outputs, along with a dedicated drive circuit—exactly what you’d expect from Animal Factory Amplification's signature gritty aesthetic.
Sonically, it delivers a powerful, aggressive character, especially in low-pass mode where it shines with rich, growling bass. The input drive stage adds warmth or full-on distortion depending on your settings. A dedicated FM input opens the door to more experimental and harmonically complex tones, especially when combined with the module’s unique FM phase control.
Bonesaw offers comprehensive modulation options with three CV inputs: one each for cutoff, resonance, and FM amount. Manual controls for cutoff, resonance, and drive allow for expressive hands-on shaping. The standout FM Phase control lets you manipulate the phase relationship of frequency modulation, offering new levels of modulation expressiveness and tone shaping.
An internal header allows integration with the AFA Vivisect module, routing the LP/BP/HP outputs to individual Vivisect channels for mixing and phase manipulation. Vivisect’s Channel 1 carries the Bonesaw’s drive output, enabling even deeper integration and sound design possibilities.
