Voltage-Controlled ADSR Envelope and Gated LFO

The RS-60N is a multi-mode ADSR envelope generator featuring CV-controlled decay and release stages alongside integrated looping, hold, and gated repeat functions.

This module expands classic four-stage envelope architecture into a versatile modulation source. Beyond standard gate-triggered contouring, its dual mode switches configure the internal timing engine for one-shot bursts, sustained holds, or continuous LFO cycles ranging from sub-audible sweeps up to 300 Hz.

In operation, the module adapts quickly between traditional note shaping and complex cyclic modulation. Setting the mode switches to gated or auto-repeat transforms the Attack and Decay stages into a repeating variable waveform generator. Dynamic control over decay and release via an external CV input lets you morph trailing envelope tails or modulate LFO speed on the fly.

For snappier transient response, patch one of the module's dual attenuated/inverted outputs back into the decay/release CV input. Self-modulating the timing circuit in this way reshapes linear slopes into steep, punchy exponential curves ideal for acoustic percussion patches.
