The Tyso Daiko is a 12-bit digital wavetable drum module with two expressive voices: one routed through a digital wavefolder, the other through a voltage-controlled analog EQ. Both voices are triggered independently but share pitch, envelope, and core sound parameters — creating interlocking timbres that complement or contrast beautifully.
Voice A runs through a tilt-style analog EQ, giving you sculpted emphasis on highs or lows. Voice B passes through a digital wavefolder, introducing harmonics, complexity, and noise textures ranging from subtle to aggressive. Together, they can sound deep and organic or sharp and synthetic — perfect for dynamic percussion design.
Accent and Choke inputs allow performance-style interaction. Accents shift the envelope lengths in opposing directions between the two voices, while the choke input introduces open/closed-style hi-hat behavior. Add to this a Surface parameter for transient shaping, and the Tyso Daiko quickly becomes more than a drum voice — it’s a full percussion instrument.
A full set of CV controls and V/Oct tracking makes it easy to sequence melodic or rhythmically evolving parts, and it builds significantly on the legacy of its predecessor, Dinky’s Taiko, with an additional voice, new wavetables, and refined controls.
