The Slim21 Continuum represents the most mobile version of the Haken design, stripping away bulk while retaining the full depth of the MPE+ playing experience. Its neoprene surface tracks X, Y, and Z axes for up to 16 simultaneous touches, allowing you to manipulate pitch, timbre, and amplitude with the same physical nuance as an acoustic string or wind instrument. Lateral finger movements produce organic vibrato, while vertical positioning and pressure provide continuous access to complex modulation without the need for additional faders or pedals.

At the heart of the instrument is the EaganMatrix, a specialized internal sound engine inspired by classic matrix-patching synthesizers. It uses mathematical formulas to map the high-speed data from the playing surface to a diverse range of synthesis types, including physical modeling, FM, and waveguide feedback networks. While the surface provides immediate, "living" feedback for live performance, connecting to a computer unlocks deep sound design possibilities via the software editor. For modular integration, the internal i2c port ensures the instrument's high-speed data can be converted to CV with the necessary resolution to maintain its characteristic responsiveness.
