Meet the EVIL PET – a charmingly mischievous sound creature that takes the shape of a pink toy but hides a vast, shapeshifting sonic playground inside. Part polyphonic granular sampler, part radio looper, part vintage-style keyboard, this curious little device from SSSR Labs is a box full of audio tricks — and a true companion for experimental minds.

At its heart is grains. Evil PET bites into your input - guitar, synth, voice, drums, anything — and breaks it into micro-particles that it flips, stretches, and reshuffles into lush pads, glitchy textures, or alien soundscapes. These grains can be triggered via a tactile mechanical “PLAY” button or performed polyphonically (up to 8 voices) via MIDI or MPE — making this a wildly expressive live performance tool.

It doesn’t stop there: EVIL PET records audio through the built-in microphone, stereo inputs, microSD card, or even the FM radio tuner — allowing you to sample the airwaves and remix them into glitchy fragments or dreamy loops. On top of all this weirdness, there’s a surprisingly deep engine and a 2.42" OLED screen to guide your sonic sculpting in real-time.
