Doepfer – A-119 External Input (Vintage Edition)

The Doepfer A-119 External Input module is a preamp and envelope follower designed to bring external audio sources—such as microphones, guitars, or line-level gear—into your modular system. This Vintage Edition features a classic black panel with white printing.

It includes two audio inputs: a balanced ¼" jack for high-gain sources like dynamic microphones, and an unbalanced ⅛" input for standard line-level signals. The signal is amplified and analysed, producing both a continuous envelope voltage and a gate signal when a user-set threshold is crossed.

The module also functions as an active multiple for distributing audio or control signals. Onboard LEDs monitor overload, envelope, and gate activity, making it easy to set levels and visualise response.
