The A-side is 'Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)', a gorgeous blend of pop and funk dynamics that became the group's first UK Top 10 hit when it was released as a single in February 1984. That synth bassline is still a killer more than four decades on. The other side of our record is the similarly poppy and sinewy 'Perfect Way', which was a huge track for Scritti Politti in the US, reaching Number 11 in the Billboard Hot 100 Singles in December 1985.
